Wood Brothers Racing Battles Back to 26th at Texas GP

On Sunday, March 1, 2026, at the Circuit of The Americas in Austin, Texas, Josh Berry and Wood Brothers Racing faced a demanding road-course event during the DuraMAX Texas Grand Prix. Starting the race in 22nd position, Berry fought through various difficulties to finish 26th, demonstrating resilience in a day marked by intense competition.

Progress Through Multiple Race Stages

In the race’s opening segment, which consisted of 20 green-flag laps, Berry maintained his 22nd spot. However, the second stage presented tougher circumstances. After a pit stop during the stage break, he resumed racing in 33rd place but steadily improved to 22nd by the end of the 25-lap segment.

Following another pit visit to adjust the No. 21 DEX Ford Mustang Dark Horse, Berry found himself restarting 37th. He gradually climbed back up to 18th before making a further stop on Lap 65. He re-entered 34th and worked his way inside the top 30 again as a caution flag appeared due to an incident involving Ross Chastain.

Final Efforts and Race Conclusion

Berry’s last pit stop came on Lap 76 of the 95-lap race. After this, he quickly regained ground, breaking briefly into the top 25 during the final eight laps before finishing just outside that range in 26th place. This marked the same finishing position Berry achieved at last year’s event at the Austin circuit.

Looking Ahead to Phoenix Raceway

The Wood Brothers team and Josh Berry are now preparing for the upcoming Straight Talk Wireless 500 at Phoenix Raceway, aiming to build upon the gains made in Texas. Their performance at the DuraMAX Texas Grand Prix, despite setbacks, showcased their ability to adapt and persevere in challenging conditions.
