Oduro spent the entire current season playing with the Birmingham Squadron, New Orleans’ G League affiliate, after initially being released by the Pelicans last October. By signing him, the Pelicans filled the third and final two-way player position on their 18-man roster.
Before turning professional, Oduro wrapped up his college basketball career at Providence, where he averaged 15.9 points and 7.5 rebounds in his single season with the Friars. Earlier, at George Mason, he was recognized twice on the all-Atlantic 10 first team. His move to Providence followed coach Kim English, who transitioned from George Mason to take over the Friars’ program.
