2026 NBA All-Star Weekend: How to Enjoy Without Tickets

The 2026 NBA All-Star Game will take place on Sunday at the new Intuit Dome in Inglewood, marking the return of the event to Southern California after 15 years. With tickets in high demand, many fans may find it difficult to attend, but the weekend offers numerous ways to take part in the festivities beyond just the game, making this a multifaceted celebration of basketball and entertainment.

Inside the Multi-Day Festivities Beyond the Game

Evan Bruno, Vice President of NBA Experiences, describes the event as

“It’s a multi-day celebration of of basketball, culture, music, and entertainment,”

highlighting the diverse activities available throughout the weekend. Central to the weekend is NBA Crossover, a fan festival beginning Thursday and running through Sunday that offers a hub filled with entertainment, watch parties, scheduled appearances, and autograph sessions. Bruno notes,

“It’s really our hub, chock full of entertainment, watch parties, there are scheduled appearances, there are autograph lines. There are ways to really interact with players both present and past. So, the weekend is built for that level of access.”

Special Events Bringing Fans Closer to Basketball Legends

Among the unique experiences is Night With A Legend, a premium dinner event held on Friday at Scopa Italian Restaurant, owned by celebrity chef Antonia Lofaso. Though she owns the venue, the focus of this event is NBA legends like Shawn Marion and Jason Williams, who will join fans for an intimate evening. Additionally, Sunday morning features the Mascot Breakfast, where mascots from across the league share breakfast with families, providing memorable fun and laughter. Bruno shares,

“That’s honestly my favorite event of the weekend,”

and adds,

“To watch NBA mascots entering a couple of hundred kids with a full breakfast, giveaways, prizes, and seeing the faces of the kids having a great time, that’s just awesome.”

Attending Events Without Breaking the Bank

Most of the NBA All-Star Weekend activities are individually ticketed, giving basketball enthusiasts options to engage with the events without purchasing expensive game passes. This accessibility allows fans to enjoy a range of offerings tailored to different interests and budgets, making the weekend inclusive for a broader audience.

New Format Introduces Exciting Competition

This year, the league is debuting a fresh format for the All-Star Game, pitting teams from USA against The World. The competition consists of three teams—two comprising domestic players and one with international All-Stars—who will compete in a round-robin tournament made up of 12-minute games, adding a new dynamic to the event.

Significance and What to Expect Going Forward

The 2026 NBA All-Star Weekend is more than just a single game; it represents a vibrant celebration of the sport’s influence on culture and community, particularly with its return to Southern California. Fans unable to secure tickets still have multiple ways to participate, from attending fan festivals and special dinners to engaging in family-friendly activities or tuning in via television and streaming platforms. This inclusive approach reflects the NBA’s commitment to connecting players, legends, and fans, promising a memorable experience that extends well beyond the court.
