The Heat initially listed Herro’s condition as a rib injury, but further reporting from The Miami Herald revealed that he has been recovering from three fractured ribs, including a buckle rib fracture. After sustaining the injury, Herro played three more games using Toradol injections to manage the pain before an MRI highlighted the injury’s severity.
Anthony Chiang has reported that Herro is expected to participate in Thursday’s practice and could return to action “in the coming days,” assuming no setbacks occur. This return window indicates the Heat may see the guard back on the court shortly, possibly as soon as their upcoming games against the Atlanta Hawks or Memphis Grizzlies.
