The Chicago Bulls experienced their ninth straight defeat on Sunday, falling 105-99 to the New York Knicks and dropping their record to 24-34. Amid this disappointing stretch, Isaac Okoro maintained his scoring consistency, contributing significantly despite the team’s struggles.
Okoro posted 12 points and six rebounds during the game, marking his sixth consecutive contest scoring 10 or more points—a personal career achievement, according to Joe Cowley of The Chicago Sun-Times. This run began on February 5, when Okoro scored 10 points in a loss to the Toronto Raptors.
Okoro’s Recent Performance Reflects a Strong Offensive Role
This latest scoring streak is among the most sustained phases of productivity in Okoro’s career. He previously recorded a double-digit scoring stretch from May 7 to May 16, 2021. So far this season, Okoro has appeared in 48 games, averaging 9.1 points per match. Meanwhile, other contributors for the Bulls included Matas Buzelis with 15 points, Jalen Smith who matched Okoro’s 12 points, Guerschon Yabusele at 11 points, and Patrick Williams with 10.
In the games leading up to the Knicks matchup, Okoro had 15 points in a 126-110 loss to the Detroit Pistons and 16 points in a 110-101 defeat against the Toronto Raptors just after the All-Star break. His steady scoring output offers some stability during the team’s otherwise difficult season.
Okoro’s Role and Team Outlook Moving Forward
The Bulls acquired Okoro from the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2025 in exchange for Lonzo Ball, aiming to enhance their defense with his aggressive style and ability to disrupt opponents’ plays. Despite Okoro’s individual efforts, Chicago’s current nine-game losing streak marks its longest in seven years, highlighting ongoing team challenges.
The Bulls are scheduled to face the Charlotte Hornets at home on Tuesday, an important opportunity to end their streak and potentially shift momentum as the season progresses.
Isaac Okoro has 12 points so far vs. NYK, marking his 6th-straight game with 10+ points (2/5-2/22). Okoro has matched the longest double-digit scoring streak of his career (2x previously – most recent: 5/7/21-5/16/21), per Bulls PR.
