Cam Thomas Blasts Nets: “They Don’t Believe in Nobody”

Cam Thomas, now playing for the Milwaukee Bucks, openly addressed his recent exit from the Brooklyn Nets, attributing it to a lack of trust within the organization. Speaking with Stefan Bondy of The New York Post, Thomas stated,

“That’s just who they are, They don’t believe in nobody.”

He emphasized that he is not dwelling on his time with the Nets and remains focused on his current role in Milwaukee.

Details Surrounding Thomas’ Transition to Milwaukee

Thomas had initially re-committed to the Nets on a one-year qualifying offer worth $6 million on September 4, 2025. However, after Brooklyn acquired Josh Minott, Thomas was waived on February 5, 2026, which gave him the freedom to select a new team. Three days later, the Bucks signed him to a minimum-salary contract.

Performance and Role Across Two Teams This Season

During the 2025-26 season, Thomas has participated in 31 games for both the Nets and Bucks, averaging 15.5 points, 1.9 assists, and 2.7 rebounds per game. His shooting efficiency has decreased compared to previous seasons, with a 41.8% field goal percentage and 31.9% from beyond the arc before joining Milwaukee. Since moving to the Bucks, Thomas has appeared in seven games, averaging 15 points in just under 20 minutes per contest.

Team Context and Playoff Aspirations

The Brooklyn Nets have endured a difficult season, currently holding a 15-44 record and struggling to find reliable scoring beyond their main rotation. On the other hand, Milwaukee ranks 11th in the Eastern Conference at 26-32, actively seeking bench scoring and depth to support their playoff push. Thomas’ arrival provides a scoring option off the bench behind stars like Giannis Antetokounmpo, who is recovering from a strained right calf.

Recent Game Highlight Featuring the Bucks and Knicks

Thomas made his comments after the Bucks suffered a 127-98 loss to the New York Knicks on February 27. Jalen Brunson led the Knicks with 27 points, while OG Anunoby contributed 24. For Milwaukee, Myles Turner scored 18 points in the first half, and Kyle Kuzma added 17, but early turnovers and a fast start by New York hindered the Bucks throughout the game.
