Edwards’ Slam Over Barrett Fuels Timberwolves’ 115-107 Win

MINNEAPOLIS — Anthony Edwards scored 22 points, highlighted by a powerful two-handed dunk over RJ Barrett, helping the Minnesota Timberwolves secure a 115-107 win against the Toronto Raptors on Thursday night. The victory marked Minnesota’s fifth consecutive triumph and moved them a game ahead of Houston for third place in the Western Conference.

Key Moments and Player Performances

Edwards showcased his skill in the third quarter when he used a crossover dribble to create space, jumped high above the rim, and delivered a two-handed slam over Barrett, followed by an emphatic celebration. Barrett responded with a physical play, bumping Edwards on the way back up the court.

Coming off a standout 41-point effort against Memphis earlier this week, Edwards maintained efficient shooting, hitting 8 of 12 shots overall and making 5 of 8 from beyond the arc. Rudy Gobert contributed a double-double with 18 points and 12 rebounds, while Julius Randle and Donte DiVincenzo added 17 and 16 points, respectively, to support the Timberwolves.

For the Raptors, Barrett led with 25 points and teammate Immanuel Quickley scored 18. Despite four losses in their last five games, Toronto holds the fifth spot in the Eastern Conference. Brandon Ingram, listed as questionable with a sprained left thumb, managed 14 points on 5-of-16 shooting.

Minnesota led narrowly at halftime, 55-54, before pulling away with an 11-0 run in the third quarter to take an 86-70 lead, which they maintained to the final whistle.

Upcoming Matchups for Both Teams

The Raptors will look to rebound as they prepare to host Dallas on Sunday. Meanwhile, the Timberwolves will aim to extend their winning streak when they face Orlando at home on Saturday.
