Von Miller Signals Desire for Broncos Reunion Amid Free Agency

Veteran pass-rusher Von Miller has expressed interest in rejoining the Denver Broncos if he becomes a free agent and is seeking a new team. Miller, currently with the Washington Commanders, revealed his desire to return to Denver during an appearance on The Arena: Gridiron, highlighting unresolved business and a lack of closure from his midseason trade away from the Broncos.

“If something were to happen and I’m not a Washington Commander, I would love to go back to the Denver Broncos,”

Miller said.

“It’s unfinished business for me and Broncos Country. I was traded midseason. I didn’t have that ability to get that closure. I didn’t even know what my last game in that stadium would be. I would love to go back for Broncos Country and the fans and be able to contribute to the Broncos the same way DeMarcus and Aqib and all those guys did for us.”

Miller’s Career Path and Achievements

Miller began his NFL career in 2011 with the Denver Broncos and played for the franchise until being traded midway through the 2021 season. During his tenure in Denver, he earned eight Pro Bowl selections and was instrumental in the team’s Super Bowl 50 championship, where he was named Super Bowl MVP. After his trade, Miller joined the Los Angeles Rams, contributing to their Super Bowl LVI victory and securing his second Lombardi Trophy.

Despite his moves, Miller remains connected to the Broncos legacy, joining veterans like DeMarcus Ware and Aqib Talib—both key defensive players during Denver’s Super Bowl 50 run—in reminiscing about what made that team successful.

Denver’s Defensive Landscape and Potential Role for Miller

The Broncos currently have a strong pass rush presence led by emerging star Nik Bonitto. However, the team might consider reuniting with Miller, their all-time sack leader, to add experience and depth to the defensive lineup. Miller finished the 2025 season with nine sacks across 17 games, signaling that he remains a valuable asset on the field for rotational duties.

Miller also indicated he would be open to staying with the Washington Commanders if both sides reach an agreement on a new contract, showing flexibility as he evaluates his next career move.

Anticipating What’s Next for Von Miller and the Broncos

With free agency approaching, Miller’s expressed interest in rejoining the Broncos highlights a potential homecoming that resonates with both the player and the franchise’s fans. Such a reunion could strengthen Denver’s defensive front by blending veteran leadership with emerging talent. For Miller, this opportunity offers the chance to close the chapter he left open in 2021 and contribute once more to Broncos Country.
