Bijan Robinson Praises Falcons’ New Coach Kevin Stefanski

The Atlanta Falcons have taken bold steps in reshaping their leadership by appointing former MVP quarterback Matt Ryan as president of football operations and hiring Kevin Stefanski as head coach to replace Raheem Morris. Stefanski, a two-time NFL Coach of the Year, brings valuable playoff experience, although his recent seasons with the Cleveland Browns have been challenging, finishing 2025 with a disappointing 5-12 record and last in the AFC North.

Bijan Robinson Shares Enthusiasm for Stefanski’s Vision

Reported by Tori McElhaney of the Falcons’ official site, running back Bijan Robinson expressed strong optimism about Stefanski’s arrival during an appearance on Good Morning Football ahead of the Super Bowl. Robinson said,

I am really excited about it. I talked to Kevin. Great human being. The cool thing is, he has a plan already. You already know he’s (got) a vision of the team, a vision for what he wants.

He also highlighted Stefanski’s ability to maximize player strengths, adding,

He knows how to utilize everybody for their skillsets. He knows how to put everybody in the right positions. I am super excited about that because I add more than just to the run game, pass game.

Stefanski Known for Offense Tailored to Player Strengths

Kevin Stefanski’s reputation centers on his offensive expertise and ability to customize schemes to fit his players’ abilities. With the Falcons ranked 18th in PFSN’s NFL Offense Impact Metric in 2025, Stefanski is tasked with improving production. Key to this will be quarterback play, especially with Michael Penix Jr. recovering from injury and Kirk Cousins likely starting the upcoming season. Cousins showed flashes of strong performance last year, such as his Week 15 effort against Tampa Bay, throwing for 373 yards and three touchdowns in a comeback win.

Stefanski Emphasizes Player Development and Structured Coaching

During his introductory press conference, Stefanski stressed the importance of building a structured environment to foster player growth. He stated,

I think it is our job as coaches to put structure around them, to put a curriculum together in the offseason to get them up to speed in whatever areas, to give them very specific things that we are going to work on together so they can improve.

With a talented roster at his disposal, Stefanski’s challenge will be to implement this vision and elevate the Falcons’ overall performance this season.

Looking Ahead: Potential Impact of Stefanski’s Leadership

The Falcons are banking on Stefanski’s experience and strategic approach to reinvigorate the team after a difficult stretch. Bijan Robinson’s confidence in Stefanski’s clear plan and adaptability suggests strong internal support as the Falcons prepare for the 2026 season. The combination of skilled players, including Robinson, Cousins, and others, with Stefanski’s coaching philosophy may lay the foundation for future success. Time will determine the full impact of these offseason changes on the Falcons’ trajectory.
