The Los Angeles Chargers have deepened their involvement in Greece through two NFL events held in Athens and Thessaloniki, aiming to expand Flag Football ahead of its first appearance at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games. This initiative reflects the Chargers’ commitment to fostering the sport’s foundation in Greece as the Olympic debut approaches.
The second leg of the tour took place at the American College of Greece (Deree) in Athens, where over 200 students joined a camp that transformed the campus into a high-level NFL training facility. The activities introduced participants to an authentic NFL experience designed to elevate local engagement and skills.
The tour concluded on Sunday, February 8, with a prominent Super Bowl Night Watch Party hosted at the COSMOTE TV studios, the official NFL broadcaster in Greece. This event was attended by significant figures including U.S. Ambassador Kimberly Guilfoyle, Deputy Foreign Minister Harry Theoharis, and General Secretary for Sports George Mavrotas.
Attendees enjoyed Greece’s inaugural NFL Live pre-game show, featuring insights from Chargers Chief of Staff Fred Maas, Senior Director of Football Development Zac Emde, and player Daiyan Henley.
