Ravens Eye Rashod Bateman’s Future Amid Trade Rumors

The Baltimore Ravens are evaluating their offensive options this offseason, with questions surrounding Rashod Bateman’s Ravens future following a lackluster 2025 campaign. Bateman, who inked a three-year, $15 million contract extension before the 2024 season, saw his production dip significantly after posting career-best numbers the previous year.

In the 2025 season, the 26-year-old wide receiver recorded 19 receptions on 38 targets, totaling 224 receiving yards and two touchdowns across 12 starts. Despite these underwhelming statistics, reports from Jeremy Fowler and Dan Graziano indicate that the Ravens intend to retain Bateman under new offensive coordinator Declan Doyle’s system.

“Rashod Bateman is coming off a down year but is guaranteed $6.5 million this year, and the Ravens seem inclined to give him another shot in the new offense they’re installing under new coordinator Declan Doyle,” Jeremy Fowler and Dan Graziano reported.

Alongside Bateman, the Ravens are also expected to pick up the fifth-year option on fellow wide receiver Zay Flowers, signaling their confidence in retaining key receiving targets moving forward.

Trade Speculation: Analyst Suggests Bateman Could Be Traded for Eagles’ A.J. Brown

Amid uncertainty surrounding Bateman’s place with Baltimore, NFL analyst Ben Solak recently proposed a trade scenario that would send Bateman to the Philadelphia Eagles in exchange for Pro Bowl wide receiver A.J. Brown. Solak emphasized how acquiring Brown could address lingering issues in the Ravens’ passing game.

“While they might not need to make a move this drastic, they would benefit from having a receiver with size and contested-catch ability — something quarterback Lamar Jackson has never enjoyed in his seven seasons,” Solak wrote.

“By acquiring him for Bateman, the Ravens can give Brown a true WR1’s volume and use Zay Flowers as a big-play WR2 — something that fits his skill set more.”

Brown’s performance lagged during the 2025 season, prompting trade discussions that could provide new opportunities for both teams, potentially revitalizing Baltimore’s offense and giving Philadelphia fresh depth at wide receiver.

Outlook for Rashod Bateman and the Ravens’ Receiving Corps

With the arrival of a new offensive coordinator and persistent trade speculation surrounding Bateman, the Ravens are at a crossroads regarding how to best utilize their wide receivers. Rashod Bateman’s Ravens future remains uncertain but is pivotal as Baltimore seeks to strengthen its passing attack and support quarterback Lamar Jackson. How the team navigates these decisions will likely have a major impact on their offensive strategy heading into the 2026 season and beyond.
