The Philadelphia Eagles are preparing for a pivotal offseason following a disappointing 2025 campaign, with star wide receiver AJ Brown emerging as a potential trade candidate amid ongoing dissatisfaction over his target share. The team aims to secure a trade package mirroring the deal the Green Bay Packers received for Davante Adams in 2022, reflecting high expectations for Brown’s value.
Trade Market Expectations and Comparisons with Previous Deals
Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated recently detailed the Eagles’ trade demands, revealing that the front office is seeking a first-round draft pick along with an additional top-100 selection. This type of offer reportedly resembles the package the Packers acquired for Adams, which many teams might find excessive for Brown.
The asking price, for now, is high. It sounds like the Eagles would want a first-round pick and another top-100 selection (similar to what the Packers got for Davante Adams in 2022), and that’s going to be too much for most, if not all, teams,
reported Breer.
Conversely, some franchises reportedly value Brown more along the lines of the 2024 trade between Houston and Buffalo involving Stefon Diggs, which yielded a second-round pick and a favorable Day 3 pick swap for the Bills.
Some of those teams, conversely, see Brown’s value as being closer to what the Bills got for Stefon Diggs from Houston in ’24 (a second-rounder, plus a Day 3 pick-swap that favored Buffalo).
Performance and Trade Implications Amid Fan Frustration
Brown’s 2025 season was underwhelming, raising questions about whether his struggles stemmed from personal performance or the Eagles’ broader offensive issues. Though he saw considerable action in the Wild Card playoff game versus the San Francisco 49ers, a pivotal dropped catch late in that contest sparked displeasure among Philadelphia supporters and hinted at a potential end to his stint with the team.
It remains unclear how Brown’s reported frustration might influence trade negotiations or the willingness of teams to meet Philadelphia’s demands. Despite this, many Eagles fans appear resigned to the possibility of moving on from Brown without significant regret.
