Jerry Jones Emphasizes Urgent Need to Improve Defensive Performance
Speaking to The U.S. Sun at the Fanatics Super Bowl party in San Francisco, Jones highlighted the necessity of addressing the team’s defensive struggles. After a disappointing defensive ranking in the 2025 season, he acknowledged the need for significant changes on that side of the ball.
We’ve got to address the defensive side of the ball,
Jones told The Sun.
He further acknowledged the difficulty of standing still in any aspect of the game and expressed confidence in recent coaching staff changes aimed at improving the defense.
They’re all talking the same goals as well as in a way that the players can execute what they’re trying to teach you.

Despite the salary cap relief, the Cowboys will still face limitations in spending but can look to improve their defense through their two first-round draft picks. Jerry Jones indicated the team would pursue “dramatic” offseason moves to strengthen its roster and address on-field shortcomings.
