The Detroit Lions announced on Monday the release of veteran offensive lineman Graham Glasgow, marking an unexpected change for the team’s roster. Glasgow, 33, rejoined the Lions in 2023 after three seasons with the Denver Broncos and has been a reliable presence in Detroit since being selected in the third round of the 2016 NFL Draft.
Glasgow’s Career and Recent Contributions
Over his decade-long NFL career, Glasgow has played in 147 games, starting 136 of them, including 14 starts in 15 appearances last season. Despite having one year left on his contract, the final year contained no guaranteed money, which factored into the Lions’ decision to release him.
By moving on from Glasgow, Detroit will save $5.56 million in cap space for the 2026 season, although it will incur $2.88 million in dead money charges.
Roster Adjustments Amid Ongoing Trades
On the same day as Glasgow’s release, the Lions agreed to acquire offensive lineman Juice Scruggs from the Houston Texans as part of the David Montgomery trade. However, this deal will only become official at the start of the new league year, suggesting further roster changes are on the horizon for Detroit.
