Packers Lock In Sean Rhyan with $33M Deal for 3 Years

The Green Bay Packers have signed offensive lineman Sean Rhyan to a three-year contract worth $33 million, according to his agents, confirming the extension on Sunday. This agreement, which includes an $11 million signing bonus, has a potential maximum value of $39 million and ensures Rhyan remains a key part of the Packers’ offensive line moving forward.

Rhyan’s Versatility Strengthens Packers’ Line

Selected in the third round of the 2022 NFL Draft, Rhyan has quickly proven himself to be one of Green Bay’s most adaptable linemen. Throughout his tenure, he has demonstrated his ability to play all three interior line positions. Last season, following an injury to starting center Elgton Jenkins, Rhyan stepped in as the full-time center and started seven games at that position.

Before solidifying his role at center, Rhyan started four games at right guard during the 2025 campaign. In 2024, he was the Packers’ consistent starter at right guard, beginning all 17 regular-season games. Though he did not start in his first two seasons, Rhyan appeared in 13 games, gradually earning more prominent roles on the line.

Impact on Team Roster and Future Prospects

Midway through last season, Rhyan himself did not expect to return to Green Bay in 2026. However, after moving to center due to Jenkins’ broken ankle, he found a strong fit in that role. With this new deal in place, it is likely that the Packers will move on from Jenkins, who still has one year left on his contract but is expected to be released or traded.

Rhyan, now 25 years old, emerges as a vital component of the Packers’ offensive front, providing the team with flexibility and reliability in the interior line positions. This commitment suggests the Packers are focusing on building continuity and strength in their offensive line for the upcoming seasons.
