Devils Activate Luke Hughes; White Sent to AHL

The New Jersey Devils have officially activated defenseman Luke Hughes off Injured Reserve, marking his return to the NHL roster. This move revives the team’s defensive depth as Hughes, a key player for the Devils, is now cleared to play after completing his recovery.

Impact of Hughes’ Recovery on Team Defense

Before his injury, 22-year-old Hughes was a cornerstone for New Jersey’s defense, participating in 49 games and averaging over 23 minutes of ice time each contest. His contributions included 26 points, consisting of five goals and 21 assists, alongside 39 blocked shots. His presence is expected to strengthen the Devils’ blue line as they aim to maintain momentum for the rest of the season.

Colton White Moves to Utica Comets

In a corresponding roster change, veteran defenseman Colton White has been reassigned to the Utica Comets in the AHL. White, 28, served as trusted defensive support through 23 games this season, amassing four assists, 23 hits, and 16 blocked shots. He will now bolster Utica’s defensive unit as they continue their AHL campaign.
