Anchorage Gears Up for Dink Minor League Pickleball: The Dink Minor League Pickleball brings an exciting and innovative competition to Anchorage with its engaging, social MLPlay format. Teams of four players—two men and two women—will compete in a fast-paced, mixed doubles format, offering a fresh take on traditional pickleball. This event, taking place at the Moseley Sports Center, is perfect for players of various skill levels and promises a dynamic atmosphere that will test players’ versatility and strategy.

Format and Schedule
- Start Time: 9:00 AM
- Division 18: Saturday, January 18, 2025
- Division 16: Sunday, January 19, 2025
- Gym doors open 30 minutes before the event.
MLPlay Format
The pickleball tournament utilizes the MLPlay format, a unique setup that ensures an exciting mix of gender and gameplay:
- Four 21-point games per match: one women’s doubles, one men’s doubles, and two mixed doubles.
- If teams are tied at 2-2, they will face off in a Dreambreaker: a singles match where players alternate every four rallies until one player reaches 21 points, winning by two.
DUPR Divisions
Teams will be divided into different dupr/”>dupr/”>DUPR divisions based on the combined ratings of all players:
- DUPR 20: Aggregate team DUPR must not exceed 20.99
- DUPR 18: Aggregate team DUPR must not exceed 18.30 (Max individual DUPR: 5.10)
- DUPR 16: Aggregate team DUPR must not exceed 16.30 (Max individual DUPR: 4.60)
- DUPR 14: Aggregate team DUPR must not exceed 14.30 (Max individual DUPR: 4.10)
- DUPR 12: Aggregate team DUPR must not exceed 12.30 (Max individual DUPR: 3.60)
Once a team registers, their DUPR ratings are locked, meaning adjustments to individual ratings won’t affect the team’s division placement.
Registration and Substitutes
- Players registering as a single must specify their team name and division (e.g., “Mad Drops – 18”).
- For those unable to form a team, the tournament director will assist with placement.
- Substitute players must ensure their DUPR rating does not cause the team’s aggregate to exceed the division’s max.
Refund and Cancellation Policy
- Cancellations must be made 15 days before the event to receive a refund minus a $5 technology fee and 3% processing fee.
- Individual registrants not placed on a team will receive a full refund (minus the applicable fees).
