Pickleball Regina Inc., the host organization for the 2026 Pickleball Saskatchewan Provincial Tournament, has named the Regina branch of the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) as the official charity partner for this year’s event. Taking place from May 28 to 31, the tournament will contribute proceeds to CMHA Regina to assist their community mental health efforts.
Shared Values Drive New Partnership
Randy Dove, president of Pickleball Regina Inc., expressed pride in the collaboration.
“We’re proud to collaborate with CMHA Regina and back an organization that reflects the values we strive to uphold every day,”
he said. On the other side, Shannon Patton, interim executive director of CMHA Regina, emphasized the importance of fostering community ties, stating,
“Building strong connections helps foster a sense of belonging.”
Patton also noted,
“We’re honoured to be part of the provincial tournament and grateful for the support from the community, especially from Pickleball Saskatchewan.”
Growing Sport Brings Economic and Social Benefits to Regina
Pickleball continues to be the fastest-growing sport in North America, according to the event organizers. The tournament expects to attract approximately 350 competitors, with an estimated economic impact of around $1 million for the city of Regina. This partnership highlights the tournament’s commitment not only to competitive play but also to supporting meaningful community causes.
Impact of the Tournament Beyond the Game
By aligning with CMHA Regina, the Pickleball Saskatchewan Provincial Tournament is set to strengthen community health initiatives while promoting a sport that encourages active participation across all ages. As the event approaches, both organizations anticipate that their combined efforts will leave a lasting positive influence on both mental health awareness and the regional sporting community.
