Jiri Prochazka and Carlos Ulberg are scheduled to face off for the vacant light heavyweight championship at UFC 327, taking place April 11 at the Kaseya Center in Miami. UFC president Dana White finalized the matchup in an official announcement made on a Friday evening.
The title was recently vacated by Alex Pereira, who had reclaimed the light heavyweight crown after a previous reign as middleweight champion, before deciding to transition to the heavyweight division.
Prochazka’s Quest to Regain the Light Heavyweight Title
Prochazka looks to capture the 205-pound title for a second time after initially winning it by defeating Glover Teixeira at UFC 275. Following his title win, Prochazka lost the belt in his first defense when Pereira stopped him via TKO. Afterwards, Prochazka was unsuccessful in regaining the championship, losing in the rematch against Pereira two fights later.
Excluding the losses to Pereira, Prochazka maintains a strong UFC record of 6-2, with every victory ending in stoppage. Recently, he has built momentum with consecutive wins, including a TKO finish over Jamahal Hill and a notable knockout comeback against Khalil Rountree Jr. last October.

Carlos Ulberg’s Rise to Title Contender Status
Ulberg suffered a knockout loss in his UFC debut against Kennedy Nzechukwu but rebounded impressively with nine straight victories since that defeat. His most recent win came in a UFC Fight Night main event, where he stopped former light heavyweight champion Dominick Reyes.

Currently, Prochazka and Ulberg hold the No. 2 and No. 3 spots, respectively, in the official UFC light heavyweight rankings, trailing only the top contender Magomed Ankalaev.
Additional Headlining Bouts on the UFC 327 Card
Besides the light heavyweight title fight, the card features a flyweight championship bout with current titleholder Joshua Van defending against challenger Tatsuro Taira. Dana White also announced the return of former Bellator two-division champion Patricio Pitbull, who will fight Aaron Pico at featherweight on the preliminary card. Both fighters have notable histories from their time in Bellator.
