Dan Hooker Slams Oliveira’s Emotional BMF Reaction at UFC 326

Dan Hooker sharply criticized Charles Oliveira’s emotional display upon being awarded the BMF title at UFC 326, calling it inappropriate. Oliveira, known as “Do Bronx,” was visibly moved to tears after a decisive unanimous decision win over Max Holloway, capturing the BMF championship.

During the June 2025 event, Oliveira executed a grappling-focused strategy that kept Holloway grounded for the majority of their bout. Holloway struggled to defend multiple submission attempts and was unable to mount a strong offensive response throughout the fight.

When the judges announced the scorecards—each reading 50-45 in favor of Oliveira—the Brazilian champion became overwhelmed with emotion, shedding tears as he celebrated the title victory.

Hooker’s Reactions Amid Ongoing Tensions

Hooker expressed his disdain for Oliveira’s tearful reaction on social media platform X, stating,

“Crying while receiving the BMF is gay.”

He further intensified his criticism in a follow-up post, adding,

“BMF doesn’t exist anymore, it died with those bitch a** tears.”

This dispute reflects a broader conflict between the two fighters, dating back to early 2025 when Oliveira claimed Hooker turned down a fight offer for UFC Rio, which Hooker strongly denies. This ongoing animosity adds friction to their public exchanges.

Oliveira’s Recent Performance and Upcoming Challenges

With the win over Holloway, Oliveira improved his professional record to 37 wins, 11 losses, and one draw. This victory marked his second consecutive win following a first-round knockout loss to Ilia Topuria at UFC 317 in their lightweight title clash.

Looking ahead, Oliveira is scheduled to defend his lightweight crown against interim champion Justin Gaethje at UFC Freedom 250, set for June 14 at the White House venue. A victory there could pave the way for Oliveira to unify the lightweight championship.

Max Holloway’s Outlook Following the Defeat

Despite the loss, Max Holloway remains optimistic and has pledged to return stronger. In a post-fight interview with Joe Rogan, the former featherweight champion expressed interest in battling Oliveira again, signaling his desire for a rematch against “Do Bronx.”
