Aurora Pickleball Club Hosts: The Aurora Pickleball Club is excited to announce The Defending Champions Tournament, a highly anticipated event set to take place from July 26 to July 28 at the Bartlett High School Tennis Courts in Anchorage, Alaska. This tournament promises to be an exciting display of competitive pickleball, attracting players from various skill levels and ensuring an exciting weekend for both participants and the audience.

Diverse Events and Skill Divisions

The tournament will begin on Friday, July 26 with Men’s and Women’s Doubles matches. The excitement continues on Saturday, July 27 with Mixed Doubles, and ends on Sunday, July 28 with Men’s and Women’s Singles. Competitors will be divided into skill divisions to ensure fair and balanced play. The Men’s Doubles will feature 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, and 4.5+ divisions, while Women’s Doubles will include 3.0, 3.5, and 4.0+ divisions. Mixed Doubles will cater to a wide range of skill levels, including 2.5, 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, and 4.5+. Singles matches will have 3.0, 3.5, and 4.0+ divisions.

The format of the tournament will be round-robin, with the top four teams in each pool advancing to the playoffs. The Tournament Director reserves the right to combine or create additional divisions as needed, ensuring the most competitive environment possible.

Tournament Details and Logistics

The event will be held at the Bartlett High School Tennis Courts, located at 1101 Golden Bear Dr., Anchorage, Alaska. The courts are outdoor non-covered pickleball hard court surfaces, and the tournament will use Franklin Sports Outdoor Pickleballs – X-40. There are eight courts available for the tournament, and parking is free for all attendees.

Participants are advised to enable text message notifications under their pickleballbrackets.com account to stay updated on match schedules and other important information. The Tournament Director also reserves the right to refuse entry to any player.

Registration and Refund Policy

Registration for the tournament is open from June 5, 2024, to July 19, 2024. The cost to participate is $75.00, with a discounted rate of $70.00 for club members. Each registration includes participation in one event, with a maximum of three events per registration. Each event guarantees a minimum of three games.

A service fee of $5 per event, up to a maximum of $10, has been administrated by pickleballbrackets.com. This fee is non-refundable and outside the control of the Tournament Directors. The withdrawal deadline is July 12, and no refunds will be issued after this date. Withdrawals before the deadline are subject to a $5 administration fee. Refunds will be processed after the pickleball tournament concludes.
