Xenia’s New Pickleball Facility Promises Courts, Coaching, and Community Fun This Summer

Xenia’s New Pickleball Facility:  A new recreational facility featuring pickleball courts is set to open this summer on U.S. 42, just south of Xenia. Long’s Sideout Sports & Spirits, owned by Brittini and Casey Long, will provide six outdoor pickleball courts, a lounge area, and space for community events.

Expanding Access to Pickleball

Originally planned as a volleyball-focused facility, the project shifted to include pickleball due to its increasing popularity.

“We’ve heard the challenges of trying to get on a court, getting a chance to play,”.

The facility aims to provide a safe and accessible space for local players.

The couple is also looking to bring in a pickleball professional to offer lessons, further supporting the sport’s growth in the area.

Future Plans for Indoor Courts

The first phase of the project includes outdoor pickleball courts, with phase two adding indoor courts. The final phase will introduce an outdoor food court and space for special events. “We want this to be like a destination place,” Long said, emphasizing their goal of creating a vibrant community hub for pickleball enthusiasts.
