Southwest Williamson Pickleball Courts Close for Star-Studded Photo Shoot

Southwest Williamson Pickleball Courts: The pickleball courts at Southwest Williamson County Regional Park in Leander will be closed on Friday, May 16, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The closure is due to a commercial photo shoot being held at the courts.

The photo shoot is being conducted by The Lovely Works, LLC, under contract with Dick’s Sporting Goods. The campaign will showcase pickleball as an accessible and inclusive sport for all ages and skill levels. The theme of the campaign, “All you need is a paddle, a ball, and a community park!” highlights the sport’s growing popularity and the importance of public parks in promoting recreation and community.

Impact on Park Visitors

The closure is planned for a time when court usage is typically low, so it will not have a significant effect on regular pickleball players. However, for those who visit the park during this time, there are plenty of other amenities available, including a 400-meter track, soccer fields, softball fields, tennis courts, basketball courts, cricket fields, and hike and bike trails.

While the pickleball courts will be temporarily unavailable, the shoot aims to increase awareness of the sport. Public parks like Southwest Williamson County Regional Park continue to play a key role in providing recreational opportunities for everyone. Updates on park availability can be found through the County’s recreation facility website.
