Boca Raton’s Huge Pickleball Paradise: On November 4, the Greater Boca Raton Beach & Park commissioners gave their stamp of approval for the Boca Paddle Group’s new public pickleball center. The development, spearheaded by Malcolm Butters and instructor Stewart Davis, is now ready to move forward with construction, as the pair presented exciting new renderings and updates.
Design Vision: Blending Indoor Comfort with Outdoor Aesthetics
Erin Wright, one of the commissioners, praised the center’s design, noting, “I like the warmer friendly aesthetic.” referring to the earth tones and wood interior elements featured in the renderings.
Malcolm Butters emphasized the vision of the space, explaining, “We want to bring the outdoor feel inside.” He further shared that the project anticipates receiving permits by the first week of December, with the grand opening slated for February 2026.
Features of the New Pickleball Facility
The center will be located on a multi-acre site within Boca Raton’s new North Park, which is still in the design and permitting phase. The pickleball facility itself is set to include 14 indoor pickleball courts, two padel courts, and nine outdoor courts, making it a hub for players.
Additionally, the renderings showed a professional shop, a grab-and-go kiosk, spacious seating areas for spectators, party rooms, and a large bar area. Malcolm Butters revealed that CityPickle, a management team with extensive experience, will operate the center.
Membership and Community Engagement
In response to a question about community access, Stewart Davis clarified, “There will be daily times with discounts for Boca residents.” ensuring that local players will have affordable opportunities to enjoy the courts. He also discussed birthday party options, explaining that the facility would offer catering services for these events, utilizing their in-house kitchen.
Additionally, Erin Wright requested more outdoor shading, to which Malcolm Butters assured that a louvered system would be installed to provide coverage, even during rain.
