MLP Salt Lake City Playoff Seeding: The Premier level playoff teams are now confirmed at Major League Pickleball’s event in Salt Lake City. Although matches are still left to be played on Sunday, the top ten Premier teams have already locked in their spots for the Toray MLP Playoffs, which will begin on August 15 in San Diego, California.
Premier Level Playoff Teams Decided
Out of the 16 Premier level teams, 10 will move on to the postseason. The final standings show St. Louis Shock in first place, followed by Dallas Flash, New Jersey 5s, Brooklyn Pickleball Team, Columbus Sliders, Los Angeles Mad Drops, Texas Ranchers, Orlando Squeeze, Utah Black Diamonds, and Miami Pickleball Club.
These rankings decide who plays in which round. The bottom four teams that qualified — Texas Ranchers, Orlando Squeeze, Utah Black Diamonds, and Miami Pickleball Club — will first play in the single elimination “play-in” round. The winners of those matches will join the top six teams in the second round. That next stage will follow a best-of-three games format.
Challenger Level Still Up in the Air
The Challenger level playoffs are not fully settled yet. Only three teams have locked in their spots. The Las Vegas Night Owls will go in as the No. 1 seed, while the Nashville Chefs are in second, and Florida Smash has secured the sixth seed.
However, the fight for the No. 3 seed is still going. D.C. Pickleball Team, California Black Bears, and Bay Area Breakers are all still in the mix. Their results in the remaining matches will decide who grabs the third seed.
What This Means Moving Forward
This playoff setup marks a big step toward the final stage of the MLP season. With St. Louis Shock leading the Premier standings and others close behind, fans can expect strong matchups in San Diego. The play-in games will be critical for teams ranked 7 through 10, since only two will move forward.
In the Challenger group, the coming matches will be intense as teams try to secure better seeds. Every game left on Sunday could change the playoff layout.
