MLP Premier Quarterfinals Recap 2025: The Major League Pickleball postseason continues Sunday, August 18, with Day 3 of the Toray MLP Playoffs. Six Premier Level teams will fight to close out their quarterfinal series at Barnes Tennis Center in San Diego, California. Winners will move on to the DoorDash MLP Finals, powered by Toray, in New York City from August 22-24.
Weekend Results So Far
The Challenger division semifinals wrapped up Saturday. The Las Vegas Night Owls, ranked No. 1, defeated the No. 5 Bay Area Breakers with scores of 3-1 and 3-0. In the other semifinal, the No. 2 Nashville Chefs beat the No. 3 California Black Bears 3-0 and 3-1. The Night Owls will now face the Chefs in the Challenger final next week.
In the Premier quarterfinals, the No. 1 St. Louis Shock advanced after beating the No. 8 Orlando Squeeze 3-0 and 3-1. Three other series are still in progress:
No. 2 Dallas Flash and No. 5 Columbus Sliders are tied 1-1.
No. 3 New Jersey 5s lead No. 7 Texas Ranchers 1-0.
No. 6 Los Angeles Mad Drops lead No. 4 Brooklyn Pickleball Team 1-0.

Key Matchups on Sunday
The Dallas Flash and Columbus Sliders are locked in a tight battle. Both earlier matches in their series went to DreamBreakers, and Saturday ended with a Columbus win to tie the series. The deciding match Sunday could see another DreamBreaker. Dallas won a coin toss, giving them the advantage to respond to Columbus’s lineups, just like in the first two matches.
The Texas Ranchers and Brooklyn Pickleball Team both face elimination. The Ranchers were swept on Saturday by the New Jersey 5s, but they were close in two of their losses. Brooklyn, however, was outplayed in every matchup against the Los Angeles Mad Drops. Both teams must win twice on Sunday to stay alive in the playoffs.
What’s Next
Sunday’s games will finalize the Premier semifinal field. The winners will join the St. Louis Shock at the MLP Finals in New York. With several teams on the brink of elimination and one series likely headed to another DreamBreaker, the playoff tension is set to rise.
