Biggest Letdowns at MLP Las Vegas with Disappointing Results

Biggest Letdowns at MLP Las Vegas: The MLP Las Vegas tournament featured several teams that fell short of expectations, leading to disappointing outcomes across the Premier Level and Challenger Level.

Premier Level Struggles

The Columbus Sliders, Carolina Pickleball Club, Los Angeles Mad Drops, Texas Ranchers, and Utah Black Diamonds combined to earn only 19 points out of a possible 72.

Among these teams, the Texas Ranchers faced significant challenges due to injuries. Player Christian Alshon sustained an injury during the PPA event, while Etta Wright suffered another setback on day two of the tournament.

Despite these hurdles, the Texas Ranchers managed to secure some points, thanks to the efforts of Lindsey Newman and Anderson Scarpa. Anderson Scarpa, in particular, delivered an impressive performance that stood out amidst the adversity.

Challenger Level Disappointments

The Bay Area Breakers had a rough outing, earning only two points from three matches. Such a result is simply not acceptable, especially for a team fighting for a playoff spot.

Despite implementing several changes earlier in the year, the Bay Area Breakers struggled to find their rhythm. The trio of Jill Braverman, Collin Shick, and Allyce Jones finished as the three lowest-rated players in the event. Given their current performance, the Bay Area Breakers’ chances of making the playoffs seem grim, estimated at less than 5%.

The SoCal Hard Eights likely left Las Vegas feeling disappointed as well. If asked about their weekend, the team would probably express their dissatisfaction. A significant blow came when they lost to the California Black Bears amid their playoff push.

Although there is still a belief that the SoCal Hard Eights will make the playoffs, securing the coveted first-round bye they hoped for before the weekend appears increasingly unlikely.
