Format and Gameplay
Minor League Pickleball operates with a unique team setup where groups of four players—two women and two men—compete in a series of games under the MLPlay format.
Each match includes four 21-point games that cover one women’s doubles, one men’s doubles, and two mixed doubles games.
If the match is tied at 2-2 after these games, it advances to a “Dreambreaker” an intense singles competition where players switch every four rallies until one reaches 21 points and wins by two.
DUPR Divisions and Rules
The pickleball event incorporates several DUPR-based divisions, ensuring balanced competition based on team aggregate ratings:
- DUPR 20: Team aggregate not to exceed 20.99
- DUPR 18: Team aggregate not to exceed 18.30, with individual player ratings maxed at 5.10
- DUPR 16: Team aggregate not to exceed 16.30, with individual player ratings maxed at 4.60
- DUPR 14: Team aggregate not to exceed 14.30, with individual player ratings maxed at 4.10
- DUPR 12: Team aggregate not to exceed 12.30, with individual player ratings maxed at 3.60
Once a team registers, its ratings are “locked” meaning any subsequent changes in player DUPR will not affect division placement.
