Dallas Wings guard Paige Bueckers, preparing for her second WNBA season pending a CBA agreement expected next month, has opened up about an unexpected way she relaxes off the court—through reading. More than just a personal hobby, reading has grown into a shared activity among her teammates, particularly during road trips where they set aside typical basketball discussions for a book club experience.
Bueckers has used her partnership with Coach to highlight this literary interest alongside her passion for fashion, demonstrating a well-rounded off-court identity. She explained that reading provides her with a fresh lens on life and self-awareness beyond her athletic career.
“We have a little book club,”
Bueckers said.
“I think it was the creativity and combining different aspects of life,”
she added about Coach’s Explore Your Story campaign.
“I’m a basketball player, I like to read, and I also like to express myself through fashion. Coach has done a really good job of having me be a part of these really cool things off the court, which allows me to express myself through a different lens and also to have people see me outside of the basketball court.”
Viewing Sports and Acting as Similar Forms of Expression
Bueckers discussed how discovering different sides of herself helps build confidence, whether through what she wears, reads, or shares online. She compared the multifaceted nature of being an athlete to that of an actor, emphasizing the importance of self-expression in various arenas of life.
“Because as an athlete, you’re more than an athlete,”
Bueckers remarked.
“As an actor, you’re more than an actor. To find yourself in different worlds, and to find different ways to express yourself, I think that’s what this was really all about.”
Paige Bueckers’ Unique Fashion Style Highlights Her Personality
Another outlet where Bueckers shares her individuality is through streetwear. Despite the Texas heat making certain clothing choices difficult, she enjoys mixing masculine and feminine pieces, especially during pregame moments like the tunnel walk, which lasts just seconds.

“It’s really hot in Texas, so I struggle to wear anything long,”
she explained.
“But obviously, I love jorts. And the tunnel walk itself is only 10 or 15 seconds. So if I have to sacrifice being warm for a little bit I will, because I love sweaters, I love cardigans, I love vests, I love rugby polos, T-shirts, and things like that too. I love a collared shirt. My style is a mix of masculine, feminine, and comfortable.”
Active Offseason and Rising Public Profile
Far from taking a break, Bueckers has kept a busy schedule during the offseason, attending sporting events and participating in photoshoots as she continues to cultivate her presence both on and off the court. Her efforts reflect a determined approach to expanding her career beyond basketball.
This evolving multifaceted profile allows fans and followers to appreciate Paige Bueckers not just as a talented basketball player, but as a creative individual balancing athletics, culture, and personal interests.
