Asia Muhammad (born April 4, 1991) is an American professional tennis player who specializes in doubles. She has been ranked as high as world No. 8 in doubles by the Women’s Tennis Association, achieved on March 17, 2025. Muhammad has won 13 doubles titles on the WTA Tour, including the 2024 Cincinnati WTA 1000 title with Erin Routliffe and the 2025 Indian Wells title with Demi Schuurs. She also reached the finals in the 2022 Indian Wells with Ena Shibahara and in the 2024 Wuhan with Jessica Pegula. In addition, Muhammad has won five doubles titles on the Challenger Tour and 35 doubles titles on the ITF Circuit. Asia Muhammad was born in Long Beach, California, to Ron Holmes and Faye Muhammad. Her father, Ron Holmes, was a standout point guard for the University of Southern California Trojans men’s basketball team in the 1980s, while her mother, Faye, was a point guard and track star at Long Beach State. Asia is the oldest of three children, with a brother, Shabazz Muhammad, who is a professional basketball player that played five seasons in the National Basketball Association. Additionally, her uncle, Stephone Paige, had a successful career in the National Football League, and her aunt, Robin Holmes-Sullivan, was a four-year starter for Cal State Fullerton’s basketball team.

Asia Muhammad began her tennis journey at a young age, training at the No Quit Tennis Academy under the guidance of coach Tim Blenkiron.
