Early Life and Background
Corey Baird was born in Escondido, California, located approximately 20 miles from San Diego. He began his youth soccer career with FC Heat, where he played from 2002 to 2004. Following his time at FC Heat, he joined San Diego Surf, where he continued to develop his skills until 2012. Baird concluded his youth soccer career with Real Salt Lake AZ, participating in the U.S. Soccer Development Academy from 2010 to 2014. During this time, he also took part in the Cal-South Olympic Development Program and various age group U.S. Soccer Youth National Teams. Notably, he attended the United States men’s national under-17 soccer team Residency Program at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida, from 2011 to 2013.

Baird’s collegiate career began when he signed a National Letter of Intent to play for Stanford University on February 6, 2013. He made an immediate impact in his freshman year, appearing in all 19 matches and helping lead Stanford to its first Pac-12 men’s soccer championship since 2001.
