Dax Milne (born June 23, 1999) is an American professional football wide receiver. He played college football for the Brigham Young University Cougars and was selected by the Washington Football Team in the seventh round of the 2021 NFL Draft. Milne has since played for several teams in the National Football League (NFL), showcasing his skills as a wide receiver.
Early Life and Background
Dax Milne was born in South Jordan, Utah, where he grew up and developed a passion for sports. He attended Bingham High School, where he excelled in both basketball and football. Milne was a member of three state championship teams in football and two in basketball. His performance as a senior earned him recognition as a second-team 6A All-State player by the Salt Lake Tribune, after he caught 23 passes for 408 yards and eight touchdowns. Following high school, Milne chose to pursue college football at BYU as a preferred walk-on, turning down scholarship offers from Southern Utah and Weber State.
Path to American Football
At BYU, Dax Milne began his collegiate football career with a solid performance in his freshman season, playing in 10 games and making three starts. He finished the year with 69 yards and one touchdown on 10 receptions. Milne’s impressive play earned him a scholarship just three weeks into his freshman year. Over the next two seasons, he continued to improve, catching 21 passes for 285 yards and two touchdowns as a sophomore. His junior season was particularly noteworthy, as he finished with 70 catches for 1,188 yards and eight touchdowns, making him a finalist for the Burlsworth Trophy, awarded to the most outstanding player who began his career as a walk-on. After this successful season, Milne decided to forgo his senior year to enter the NFL Draft.
