Easton James Lucas (born September 23, 1996) is an American professional baseball pitcher. He currently plays for the Hanshin Tigers of Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB) in Japan. Over the course of his career, Lucas has also pitched in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Oakland Athletics, Detroit Tigers, and Toronto Blue Jays. He throws right-handed and has moved between starting and relief roles throughout his professional journey.
Early Life and Background
Easton James Lucas grew up in Southern California and attended Grace Brethren High School in Simi Valley, California, where he first developed as a pitcher. After high school, he enrolled at Pepperdine University in Malibu, California, where he played college baseball for the Pepperdine Waves. During his time at Pepperdine, Lucas gained attention as a promising arm in the West Coast college baseball scene.
In the summer of 2018, Lucas played collegiate summer baseball with the Wareham Gatemen of the Cape Cod Baseball League, one of the most respected amateur leagues in the United States.
