Early Life and Background
John Jiles grew up in Wake Forest, North Carolina, where he attended Wake Forest High School. He was rated as a three-star recruit coming out of high school and played a significant role in helping his high school football team win back-to-back North Carolina 4AA state championships in 2016 and 2017. Initially, Jiles committed to play college football for the Marshall Thundering Herd but faced academic challenges that prevented him from joining the team. Instead, he signed with Fort Scott Community College to continue his football career.

At Fort Scott Community College, Jiles made an immediate impact on the field. Over his first two seasons, he totaled 95 receptions for 1,543 yards and 12 touchdowns, showcasing his skills as a wide receiver. After his successful stint at Fort Scott, he transferred to Virginia Union University, where he continued to excel. In his only season with the Panthers, Jiles recorded 40 receptions for 627 yards and nine touchdowns. Following this, he transferred to the University of West Florida, where he had a standout season, making 66 receptions for 1,255 yards and 16 touchdowns.
