Jon Rhattigan was born on February 2, 1999, in Naperville, Illinois. He attended Neuqua Valley High School in Naperville, where he began to develop his skills in football. Rhattigan’s early exposure to the sport laid the foundation for his future career in professional football. After high school, he continued his education and football career at the United States Military Academy, commonly known as Army, where he played for the Army Black Knights.

Rhattigan played for the Army Black Knights for four seasons, ultimately becoming a starter during his senior year. He had a notable senior season, finishing with 78 total tackles, 9 tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, 2 interceptions, 2 pass breakups, and 2 fumble recoveries. Early Career (2021–2023)

Jon Rhattigan signed with the Seattle Seahawks as an undrafted free agent on May 13, 2021. He was waived during final roster cuts on August 31 but was re-signed to the team’s practice squad the following day. Rhattigan made history as the first Seahawks player on the roster from Army. He was elevated to the active roster before the season opener and later signed a contract with the team. However, he faced challenges, including being placed on injured reserve on January 1, 2022, and being placed on the active/physically unable to perform list on July 26, 2022. He was activated on December 10, 2022.

Breakthrough (2024)

On August 30, 2023, Rhattigan was waived by the Seahawks but quickly re-signed to the practice squad. He was promoted to the active roster on September 28, 2023. However, on August 27, 2024, he was waived again as part of final roster cuts. Shortly after, on August 28, 2024, Rhattigan was claimed off waivers by the Carolina Panthers.
