Katherine Nicole Stengel (born February 29, 1992) is an American professional soccer player who plays as a forward for Gotham FC of the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL). Stengel previously played for the Boston Breakers, Washington Spirit, Utah Royals, Houston Dash, and NJ/NY Gotham FC in the NWSL, Bayern Munich in the German Frauen-Bundesliga, both Western Sydney Wanderers and Newcastle Jets in the Australian W-League, and both Liverpool and Crystal Palace in the English Women’s Super League. In 2012, she was part of the United States Under-20 team that won the 2012 CONCACAF Women’s U-20 Championship and the 2012 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.

Katherine Nicole Stengel was born in Melbourne, Florida, United States. She attended Viera High School in Viera, Florida, where she began to develop her skills in soccer. Following high school, Stengel continued her education and athletic career at Wake Forest University from 2010 to 2013. During her time at Wake Forest, she played for the Demon Deacons women’s soccer team and completed her college career as the highest-scoring player in Wake Forest history, netting 50 goals in 75 games. Stengel was recognized for her talent, earning four All-ACC honors and three All-America selections, becoming the first Wake Forest player to be named first-team All-America in 2011.

Stengel’s professional career began in 2013 when she joined the Los Angeles Blues of the USL W-League.
