Mike Sainristil was born on October 3, 2000, in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. His family left Haiti when he was just seven months old due to threats received by his father, a radio station director, following the 2000 Haitian presidential election. The family settled in Everett, Massachusetts, where Sainristil grew up and later attended Everett High School. During his senior year, he was recognized as Massachusetts’ 2018 Gatorade Player of the Year, achieving 30 receptions for 762 yards and 12 touchdowns as a wide receiver, while also making six interceptions as a defensive back. He concluded his high school career with a total of 28 receiving touchdowns.
Path to American Football
In November 2018, Mike Sainristil committed to play college football for the Wolverines at the University of Michigan. He enrolled early and made a strong impression during Michigan’s 2019 spring practice.
