Morgan Moses is an American professional football offensive tackle for the New England Patriots of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Virginia Cavaliers and was selected by the Washington Redskins in the third round of the 2014 NFL Draft. He has also played for the New York Jets and Baltimore Ravens.

Early Life and Background

Morgan Moses was born on March 3, 1991, in Richmond, Virginia. He attended Meadowbrook High School in North Chesterfield, Virginia, where he excelled in football, earning two-time all-state, all-region, and all-district selections. After initially committing to the University of Virginia, he played one year of prep football at Fork Union Military Academy to become academically qualified to attend the university. Moses played for the Virginia Cavaliers from 2010 to 2013, starting all 12 games at left tackle during his senior year. He finished his college career with 43 starts and earned third-team All-Atlantic Coast Conference honors. He graduated from the University of Virginia with degrees in anthropology and African American studies.

Path to American Football

After completing his college career, Morgan Moses entered the 2014 NFL Draft, where he was selected by the Washington Redskins in the third round as the 66th overall pick. He signed a four-year contract with the team on May 29, 2014. Despite being placed on injured reserve during his rookie season due to a lisfranc injury, he showed promise as a player. In his second season, he won the starting right tackle position during training camp, which marked the beginning of his professional career.
