After his sophomore year, he transferred to Long Island Lutheran High School in Brookville, New York. During his junior year, he averaged 9 points and 4 assists per game. In this single prep year, he averaged 11.9 points and 7.1 rebounds, leading his team to their first-ever state title appearance.
