Ryan Noda attended Grant Community High School in Fox Lake, Illinois. In his freshman year, Noda recorded a .230 batting average, seven home runs, and 32 runs batted in. He also made a one-inning pitching appearance without allowing a baserunner. Following his freshman season, he played collegiate summer baseball for the Yarmouth–Dennis Red Sox in the Cape Cod Baseball League, helping lead the team to a league championship.
