Terry Lee “TJ” Friedl (born August 14, 1995) is an American professional baseball outfielder for the Cincinnati Reds of Major League Baseball (MLB). TJ Friedl was born on August 14, 1995, in Pleasanton, California. He grew up in the same East Bay community where he would later become a high school standout, attending Foothill High School in Pleasanton. At Foothill, Friedl lettered in three seasons of varsity baseball and also played for the school’s basketball team, finishing his high school career with a .308 batting average.
After high school, Friedl enrolled at the University of Nevada, Reno, where he walked on to the Nevada Wolf Pack baseball team without a scholarship.
