During his final season of major junior hockey in 2019–20, he was traded from the Barrie Colts to the Flint Firebirds, where he finished with a career-best 17 goals in a combined 55 regular season games.

On March 3, 2020, Tucker signed a three-year, entry-level contract with the St. Louis Blues. He began his first professional season with the Utica Comets during the pandemic-shortened 2020–21 season, registering 7 points in 27 appearances.
