Early Life and Background

MacMath was born in St. Petersburg, Florida, to Marcia and Gary MacMath. He is of Jewish heritage, with his mother being Jewish and his father Catholic. MacMath practiced Judaism and had a Bar Mitzvah at Temple Beth El, a Reform synagogue in his hometown. He attended St. Petersburg High School during his freshman year before transferring to the IMG Soccer Academy in Bradenton, Florida. During his time in high school, he was recognized as a two-time Parade magazine High School All-American soccer goalkeeper.
