Team Information

The Halifax Thunderbirds are a professional Canadian box lacrosse team based in Halifax, Nova Scotia, competing in the National Lacrosse League (NLL) as members of the Eastern Conference’s Atlantic Division. Founded originally in 1995 as the Rochester Knighthawks, the franchise relocated to Halifax in 2019 and began play as the Thunderbirds in 2020. They play home games at the Scotiabank Centre. The team has a rich history of success, including five NLL championships won as the Rochester Knighthawks. Owned by Curt Styres and coached by Mike Accursi, the Thunderbirds sport purple, orange, white, and black colors, and represent the growing professional lacrosse presence in Atlantic Canada.
