Johnson Siblings Defeated David and Wilson to Reach The Mixed Final

Johnson Siblings Defeated David and Wilson: On Friday, the mixed doubles match on the Humana Championship Court was full of excitement. Jorja and JW Johnson seemed set to win easily over Vivienne David and Thomas Wilson. They had won the first game 11-3 and were leading 6-2 in the second game. It looked like they would win in just two games.

However, the match was not over yet. David and Wilson made a comeback, winning Game 2 with a score of 12-10. This forced a deciding game, with a place in the finals at stake.

The Johnson siblings played well at the start of Game 3, quickly taking a 5-0 lead. But their opponents soon gained control, tied the game, and ended the first half leading 6-5.

The two teams kept scoring back and forth, getting closer to the important eleventh point. In the end, the Johnson siblings managed to win the third game 11-8. For Jorja Johnson, the intense match was expected.

“We always have really tough matches against [Vivienne and Thomas], even though we haven’t played them yet this year. We really had to lock in and just trust each other, especially when it got tight in the second and third games.” – (Jorja Johnson)

Trusting each other might be easier for them because they are brother and sister. The No. 4 seeds aim for the top prize on Championship Sunday as they compete against the top seeds, Anna Leigh Waters and Ben Johns, for the gold.

“It’s super special to be able to play mixed with my brother. He’s told me that he always wanted me to get into tennis so that we could play mixed doubles, so I imagine this is like a consolation prize for him.” – (Jorja Johnson)
