JW Salley Park Revamps Tennis Courts, Adds Pickleball Facilities

JW Salley Park Revamps Tennis Courts: J.W. Salley Park in Church Hill is undergoing a significant renovation. Located at 424 Lane St., next to the Church Hill Pool, the park is updating and repurposing its tennis courts.

Upon completion, the renovated area will feature one new tennis court and six new pickleball courts. This transformation aims to provide enhanced recreational facilities for the community.

According to Church Hill City Recorder Kimberly Dobbs, the project faced delays due to concerns about the placement and direction of the pickleball courts. However, these issues have been resolved. Dobbs estimates that the new courts will be ready for use sometime in July.

Dobbs reported that they had plotted out the facility’s courts and installed net posts as of the first week of June. The community eagerly awaits the completion of this project, anticipating a rejuvenated space for sports and recreation.
