Over the course of his career, Ferrucci has built a reputation as a versatile driver who has competed across junior open-wheel series, Formula 2, the NASCAR Xfinity Series, and the NTT IndyCar Series.
Early Life and Background
Ferrucci was born on May 31, 1998, in Woodbury, Connecticut, to parents Mike and Valerie Ferrucci. He grew up in a household where motorsport was a central interest, and as a young fan he followed the career of seven-time Formula 1 World Champion Michael Schumacher, who became his racing idol. That early admiration for Schumacher helped shape Ferrucci’s competitive approach and his decision to pursue a professional career in single-seater racing.
Path to NASCAR
Before any stock car exposure, Ferrucci climbed the European open-wheel ladder. He raced in the F2000 Championship Series, German Formula 3, British Formula 3, and the European Formula 3 championship, then graduated to the GP3 Series and the FIA Formula 2 Championship. His first real taste of stock cars came in 2020 when he tested a super late model with Fury Race Cars. That test led to his NASCAR Xfinity Series debut in 2021 with Sam Hunt Racing driving the No. 26 Toyota Supra, marking his transition from open-wheel racing to the world of stock cars.
