Josh Berry Eyes Strong Finish at Phoenix Raceway This Weekend

Josh Berry and Wood Brothers Racing are set to compete at Phoenix Raceway this weekend as the NASCAR Cup Series hosts the Straight Talk Wireless 500 on Sunday. Berry is returning to one of his better-performing tracks, aiming to leverage his past success to deliver a strong performance.

The event will also mark the debut of the eero colors on the No. 21 Ford Mustang Dark Horse for the 2026 season, featuring a slightly updated design that reflects the new campaign’s spirit.

Past Performances Highlight Berry’s Potential at Phoenix

Last year at the one-mile oval in the Sonoran Desert, Berry posted impressive results, finishing fourth in the spring race and seventh in the finale. Over his five career NASCAR Cup Series starts at Phoenix, Berry has maintained an average finish of 14.2 with three top-10 placements, including a tenth-place finish in his debut Cup race there in 2023.

Phoenix has been a good track for me,

Berry said.

“We’ve had some solid runs there, including two top-10 finishes last season, so that definitely gives us confidence going back.”

It’s a place where track position and execution really matter. If we can qualify well and keep ourselves in position, I think we can put ourselves in position for another strong day.
