Brad Keselowski, a NASCAR Cup Series driver and co-owner of RFK Racing, has expressed strong support for Michael Jordan’s commitment to NASCAR. As a co-owner of 23XI Racing, Jordan has significantly raised the team’s profile, with driver Tyler Reddick securing three victories early in the season. Keselowski highlighted how Jordan’s engagement enhances the sport’s visibility and competitiveness.
Keselowski emphasized that Jordan’s frequent and hands-on presence at race tracks distinguishes him from many other owners. He remarked on the importance of owners being physically present during race events to effectively support their teams and contribute to the broader NASCAR community.
I mean, it is hard to argue against Michael having a positive influence on this sport. You know, I love the fact that he’s so engaged at races, and I just can’t emphasize enough how important it is not only for Michael but for any of the key stakeholders to have physical presence at the racetrack. And that’s at all levels, not just the team owner level,
Keselowski said.
Alongside his presence, Keselowski pointed out the personal sacrifice involved for Jordan to travel across the country and dedicate long weekends to the sport, underscoring the level of dedication required to be involved as an owner in NASCAR.

So for him to have physical presence, I think, is a testament to his fortitude for being part of the sport because, let’s face it, although he won his first three races, he lost a lot more as every car owner will. It’s not a dig on him. And if I’m a guy like him personally and wake up and say where do I want to be today and I know that I have less than a 10% chance of winning, flying my butt all across the country when I have all the things Michael has is probably something that takes me a minute to emotionally justify.
The Demands Inherent in NASCAR Team Ownership
Keselowski described the relentless challenges that come with owning a NASCAR team, including the demanding Cup Series schedule that requires constant attention from those at the helm. Operating a racing team entails managing drivers, staff, and sponsors while striving for success amid a highly competitive environment where wins are scarce and hard-fought.
He acknowledged that Michael Jordan’s willingness to embrace these pressures deserves considerable respect and admiration within the sport.
But he does, and I’ll give him a lot of respect and credit for that because the sport is a grind not just for the people that work in it but also for the key stakeholders, be it team owners, executives, etc. So he’s made the decision and choice to participate at a high level, to be engaged,
Keselowski explained.
Keselowski’s remarks highlight the extensive travel and long hours involved for team owners, who must balance intensive race weekend commitments at the track with ongoing weekday responsibilities to maintain team performance and sponsor relations.
Michael Jordan’s Broader Influence on NASCAR’s Growth
Beyond the operational demands, Keselowski noted the significant broader impact Jordan brings to NASCAR through his international fame and recognition. This global brand association is a valuable asset for the sport, attracting greater exposure and interest from new audiences.
The fringe benefit for the sport is the brand that he has outside of it, which naturally comes with him, which is, I think, a great thing. I’m happy for him, and I’m happy for the sport. And I think it’s hard to see any negatives. I’m sure there’s probably some out there, but I don’t see ’em and, you know, generally happy he’s part of our sport.
Jordan’s consistent involvement throughout the NASCAR season helps keep the spotlight on both 23XI Racing and the Cup Series as a whole, generating sustained enthusiasm among fans, owners, and drivers alike. This heightened attention could lead to greater growth and new opportunities for NASCAR’s competitive landscape.
