Mike Conley Likely to Exit Bulls After Trade Shakeup

Mike Conley, recently acquired by the Chicago Bulls from the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday, is not expected to stay with the team, according to NBA TV’s Chris Haynes. The move was part of a three-team trade involving the Bulls, Timberwolves, and Detroit Pistons, shifting several players between squads.

Details of the Multi-Team Transaction and Player Movement

The trade sent Jaden Ivey to Chicago alongside Conley, while Dario Saric and Kevin Huerter were traded to Detroit. Despite joining the Bulls, Conley’s tenure with the franchise appears short-lived. Sources indicate that both parties are considering options to determine the best course of action moving forward.

Next Steps for Conley and the Bulls’ Roster Strategy

Chris Haynes explains,

“will work on a proper path to move forward.”

This suggests the Bulls might either trade Conley to another team before the Thursday deadline or potentially release him. Doing so would permit Conley to sign with a team requiring experienced backcourt support. Before the trade, Conley averaged 4.4 points, 2.9 assists, 1.8 rebounds, and one three-pointer per game in approximately 18.5 minutes of play with Minnesota.
